The Consumers and Environment Category of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is pleased to invite you to its conference "30 years defending European consumers", which will take place on 1 October. The event is organised in the context of the Conference on the Future of Europe.

External participants are kindly invited to follow the meeting from remote. The Category will mark its 30th anniversary, with high-profile speakers and round tables on A radical rethinking of consumption, A Europe that protects and The new challenges. Keynote guest speakers will include:

François Letondu, economist, Head of Macro-sectoral and macro-financial studies, Société Générale
Pascal Durand, Member of the European Parliament, Renew Europe Group
Monique Goyens, Director General, European Consumer Organisation (BEUC)
Jean-Daniel Lévy, Harris Interactive, Director of the Politics & Opinion Department

Since it was set up in 1991, the Consumers and Environment Category has had the same objectives, namely to ensure that all EESC opinions take into account the interests of consumer associations and environmental issues, to enhance dialogue with consumers and environmental campaigners, and to promote opinions that link consumer and environmental questions.

For remote participation, please register here until 28 September at noon.
