consumerday12The 14th edition of the European Consumer Day, organised together with the Danish Consumer Council, will be held in Copenhagen, in the premises of the European Environment Agency, onThursday 15 March 2012 and will focus on sustainable consumption.

Sustainable consumption implies the use of goods and services that respond to basic needs and bring a better quality of life without jeopardising the needs of future generations.

Issues to be discussed at the European Consumer Day 2012 are therefore very relevant. The current financial crisis plays a role in sustainable consumption patterns as new needs have appeared and new ways of buying have emerged.

Consumers must accordingly be better protected and better informed as they are the driving force of innovation and growth by demanding value, quality and service.

Participants in the conference will have the opportunity to discuss these different topics at the highest level.
